About Becky Marshall-Potter
Through her work in production, promotion and teaching, Becky has gained considerable experience over the past decade working with and supporting artists in music and the wider arts. The FolkEast festival that she produces with husband John is known to provide a supportive environment for artists to not only try things out, from collaborations to full blown projects, but also to explore new avenues of interest.
She trained as an actress and with a background in theatre and the performing arts, she has an understanding of the need and skills to build relationships with an audience. This is particularly important at a time when the audience is constantly evolving along with the challenges of COVID-19, and the explosion of online events.
Becky is currently working with young multi-instrumentalists Finn Collinson and Georgia Leigh to develop and deliver a young person provision at the festival and throughout the year to encourage social playing and personal peer support for and by young musicians in the rural area of Suffolk where she lives.
